Snipwise

The problem

Browser screenshot tools capture a single flat image and stop there. Anything beyond that — combining several captures, annotating them, arranging them across pages, exporting the result as a document — means moving into a separate image editor, and usually uploading the material to someone else's server first.

The approach

Snipwise puts the whole workflow inside the browser. A capture opens a real editor built around pages and layers rather than baked-in pixels, so every image stays movable, resizable and reorderable after the fact. Nothing is uploaded: capture, editing and export all run locally in the extension.

Visible area, full page with automatic scroll-and-stitch, drag-to-crop region, one-click save as PDF, or a blank workspace built from local images, drag-and-drop or paste.

Multi-page, multi-layer editor

A workspace holds multiple pages, each its own canvas with its own layers, annotations and undo history. Every image is a layer with independent position, size, order and opacity.

Full annotation set

Pen, arrow, line, rectangle, circle, text, callout bubble, auto-numbered step markers, highlighter, blur/redact, canvas crop and emoji stamps. Text and callouts stay editable objects rather than flattened pixels.

Configurable PDF export

A live-preview dialog controls page size (A4, Letter, Legal), orientation, margins and an optional custom cover page. Every workspace page maps to its own PDF page.

Fifty-level undo

Undo history is unified across annotations, layer moves and page structure, so structural changes are as reversible as brush strokes.
